Just an April Fool

Well, I guess the joke is on me.
My intention to post something interesting at least monthly seems to be more like quarterly in reality.
Sigh.

Have I misplaced my ‘kreative’ spirit?
Perhaps I’m just too kinetic to be pinning my thoughts down?
Or is there too much clutter and it’s time for serious Spring cleaning?
Maybe I need a change of scenery or new experiences?
Or is it simply a systematic apathy that hasn’t been easy to shake?
Whatever it is I’m fighting, little by little, there’s something chipping away inside, leaving a hollow shell.
Ever felt like this?

March at least found me quilting again. 😀
Piecing strips of fabric seems to put everything in perspective.

The Marin Quilting Retreat found me focused on assembly of the Necktie Quilt for SA.
Resourcefully, I used 7 shirt backs and 1 front as the backing, and then finished piecing the top for the foundation of the ties.
This is where I ran into a snag: I worked so hard on the pieced foundation top with its intact pockets in chambray blues and creamy yellows that I don’t really want to cover it with ties anymore!
Luckily, my client agrees and I’m making a simple secondary quilt for her as well.
Next phase: tie-topping.

What will April bring this fool?
With any luck, many fabulous things: eating fresh garden produce and kick-butt pilates workouts; finishing quilt projects and planting flowers; travel planning and communing with my dear friends.

May the fluctuating weather this Spring invigorate my senses and wash away the ennui.
(Literally, just wait an hour and sun turns to rain turns to sun again. How amazing!)

I’m bound to recapture my creative groove.
Look at this as the breath before the laughter begins anew.
Just then, a smile blossoms across my face.

With Spring Optimism,
Your Joyful April Fool
M
